For six soloists (soprano, mezzo, contralto, tenor, baritone, bass) and chamber orchestra (flute, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, tuba, percussion, piano and string quintet).
Comissioned by Teatro da Trindade/Inatel for the 2003/04 season (director: Carlos Fragateiro). It was performed by an international cast, in 12 shows (an excepcional number for a contemporary opera), between 17 March and 4 April 2004. Stage director: Paulo Matos. Musical director: Cesário Costa. Orchestra: Instrumental Ensemble of the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. Guest pianist: Nicholas McNair.
Filmed by RTP, directed by Rui Nunes, in partnership with RDP – Antena 2. Broadcasted in RTP 2: 5 Nov 2004, 6 Jun 2005, 5 Nov 2006, 9 Aug 2015. It is the only Portuguese contemporary opera to have been broadcast by RTP in the last 25 years.
